<p>It&#8217;s raining on July 4th. What is that about?</p>
<p>So, yeah. i did this run in the rain. Obviously the heat wasn&#8217;t a factor. It was actually a little cooler today so that wasn&#8217;t a problem to begin with. The trail was pretty empty. I ended up seeing  a lot more people, though, because everyone was camping out under their tents waiting for the fireworks.</p>
<p>Other then dealing with the rain there wasn&#8217;t much to this run. I just banged out my 33 minutes and walked home. I never felt tired and I never felt winded. I had the same pace as always. Hit my turnaround mark at 20 minutes.</p>
<p>Today I thought about making a goal to hit that point a little earlier. Maybe down the line I&#8217;ll pass it at 16 minutes.  It&#8217;s almost two miles exactly so I would have to run 8 minute miles. That&#8217;s pretty reasonable. I could get there eventually.</p>

<p>Decent run today.</p>
<p>The weather was hotter then yesterday. In fact, I thought it was approaching miserable. HIgh 80&#8217;s. Just on the edge there between pleasant and too much.</p>
<p>Luckily, I kept catching a nice breeze so it made everything bearable. Still, I decided to slow down back to my normal pace and that was probably a good thing.</p>
<p>There is definite improvement in the way I&#8217;m feeling on these runs. I think last week&#8217;s rust has been officially shaken off. I&#8217;m ready to do this thing.</p>

<p>Week 1 (part 3) started today. I&#8217;ve never had any trouble with the first day and I didn&#8217;t this time. I got every one plus a new max of 9! I have no idea where that came from. I set a goal for 8. Once I got it I just went for one more.</p>
<p>I got 3 more push ups today then last time. Awesome progress.</p>
<p>I feel like there&#8217;s a mental block with my push ups. Whatever goal I set is pretty much my max. That fourth set of four was tougher then the first four of the last set. Don&#8217;t know why that is. When I know I have 8 (for instance) I can get to at least 6 pretty easy. When my goal is 4 I&#8217;m struggling to get that fourth rep.</p>
<p>I should set higher goals on my max sets.</p>

<p>BRUTAL run today. Absolutely brutal.</p>
<p>The  temperature was only in the high 80&#8217;s but the humidity must have been close to 100%. It was very difficult to breath even at the start. There wasn&#8217;t much shade along my trail so I had the sun beating down on me hard.</p>
<p>By the 50 minute mark I was sweating so much that my nipples started hurting. I have to remember this on my next long run. Gotta try band aids or something.</p>
<p>The whole things was just a miserable experience. Hated every step.</p>

<p>Not cool.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m a little more depressed about my weight then usual because it&#8217;s now less then 40 weeks to April 1, 2009. That was my goal date to hit 200 lbs. When I first picked that date I needed to average half a pound a week to get there. Now I need more than a pound a week. It&#8217;s still reachable but every week I spend on this plateau makes it less so.</p>
