Afterburn, week 5, day 1

I went up to the next level and it nearly gave me a heart attack.

The fourth sprint made me feel like I was going to run out of air. Luckily I was alone in the gym because by that time I was breathing so hard it was embarrasing. I guess that’s what happens when you are sprinting though so I need to get over that.

Todays run went as follows:

3.2mph walk

6.2mph jog

9.2mph sprint

I don’t know if I’ve ever really explained what I mean by those numbers above. Here’s how today’s run went as an example.

5 minutes – 3.2mph

1 minute – 9.2mph

2 minutes – 6.2mph

1 minute – 9.2mph

2 minutes – 6.2mph

1 minute – 9.2mph

2 minutes – 6.2mph

1 minute – 9.2mph

2 minutes -6.2mph

5 minutes – 3.2mph

The whole thing lasted 22 minutes. That may not sound like a long time but trust me it feels like it is.
