Hal Higdon’s Marathon Training, week 1, day 4

66 minutes

BRUTAL run today. Absolutely brutal.

The  temperature was only in the high 80’s but the humidity must have been close to 100%. It was very difficult to breath even at the start. There wasn’t much shade along my trail so I had the sun beating down on me hard.

By the 50 minute mark I was sweating so much that my nipples started hurting. I have to remember this on my next long run. Gotta try band aids or something.

The whole things was just a miserable experience. Hated every step.

  1. Damn! You did well to stick it out!

  2. Sorry you didn’t have the greatest run. Just keep at it!! Congrats on finishing it though!!!!!

  3. Yeah, we’re getting some very high humidity at the moment too. Apart from getting up early to run, not sure of the best thing to do. It’s a real slog some days – just make sure you’re hydrated going into the run and take care to hydrate afterwards.

    Hang in there…
