Hal Higdon’s Marathon Training, week 5, day 4

110 minutes.

I never thought I’d see the day where I could jog for one hour and fifty minutes straight. Today is that day.

The weather was awesome. It was about 80 degrees and the sun was going down. Since it wasn’t so hot I never got too thirsty. I brought my water belt but never even reached for it until well past one hour. I only used three of them during my run.

I still can’t believe it. Zero pain, zero issues at all. Probably my best run ever. Today was just my lucky day.

    My starting weight was around 300 a month ago, so I can feel your pain! I’m also training for a marathon for next year. Keep us posted & good luck!

    I have been an on/off, somewhat dedicated long distance runner since high school. I started running to strengthen my lungs after I got very sick at the recommendation of a specialist (who gave me a rather dire prediction on life expectancy).

    Two years ago (I am 30 now) I trained with Hal Higdon’s Marathon Training Plan and I have to say – IT WAS GREAT! I think you will be really happy with yourself, your race and Hal at the finish line! He (and you!) will get you well prepared!
