Hal Higdon’s Marathon Training, week 11, day 4

16 miles

This was supposed to take me 3 hours. It ended up taking me close to four.

I couldn’t run the whole thing. For some reason I hit a wall again at hour two. I don’t understand why I have so much trouble on these long runs. When I have a two hour run I can do it with no problem. Maybe it’s mental.

If there’s any positive to these past two long runs it’s that I’ve actually covered the mileage I’m supposed to. I’m doing the miles I’m just walking the last hour. Hopefully that makes a difference.
